Where do I leave my backpack and belongings whilst I am on K’gari?
How do I get to Nomads Noosa?
Can I stay in my car or campervan outside Nomads Noosa before or after the tour?
No. Unfortunately we are not allowed to let customers sleep in vehicles outside the hostel.
Check out the Nomads Noosa website to book in your bed nights or check out some of the local campgrounds online. Just make sure you have this planned out in advance as Noosa accom gets bookes out quick!
Where do we sleep on K’gari?
Island Expeditions™
We have an eco-certified campground set in an epic location right next to the beach. We provide all the gear (2 person tents, sleeping bags & pillows) you just rock up and we’ll sort out everything else. We’ve also got a dingo-fence around the campsite so they won’t come and say hello whilst we’re having a BBQ.
K’gari Safari™
The campsite is set up in 4 person tents with beds and comfortable mattresses, pillow and linen included. A general store, amenities block with hot showers , flushing toilets are all surrounded by a dingo-fence. The beach is a short walk away for a tranquil sunrise or sunset moments.
I don’t have a driving license, can I still do the tour?
Absolutely you can still do the tour! There is always room for a navigator, a comedian, a DJ and a photographer. If you don’t wanna take on these responsibilities – That’s cool too, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
What happens if it is bad weather whilst I’m on K’gari?
Unfortunately as much as we wish we could control the weather – we can’t. Queensland is subject to cyclones and torrential rain.
Check the weather forecast and bring a waterproof jacket with you and we’ll still have an epic time. It is rare that we cancel tours in bad weather as we know most of our customers have tight schedules booked along the Coast.
Can I bring alcohol with me on the tour or do I buy it on the island?
Sure. We recommend you to buy your alcohol before the tour. No Goon (boxed wine) or glass is permitted on the tour.
We recommend anything in a can is the best way to go. Less bottle tops and broken glass!
HINT ALERT >> Buy your drinks in Noosa the day before departure as it’s way cheaper than on the island.
Can I drive on K'gari?
You can drive on K’gari if:
- If you are 21 years of age with 2 years of driving experience.
- Hold a valid driving license.
-
If your driver’s license is not written in full English it must be accompanied by an international driver’s license. No photocopies will be accepted.
What time does the tour return?
What’s a Swag?
Made famous by Australia’s unofficial national anthem Waltzing Matilda, the Swag is a true Aussie icon! Born in the rugged 1800s, this clever invention was a portable bed and tent rolled into one, perfect for the wandering Swagmen—those nomadic outback workers (and sometimes cheeky scoundrels). Fast forward to today, and the humble Swag has leveled up! It’s now super comfy, waterproof, and remains a must-have for those wanting a slice of the Aussie outback adventure. So, give K’gari Swag Adventures a try and get ready to explore like a true blue Aussie!
